I am writing to formally report a highly concerning incident involving a front desk staff member during our recent stay at Safari Park Hotel. The incident occurred in the early morning of December 26, 2025, during our checkout process as we were departing the hotel to catch a scheduled flight to Mombasa. At checkout, we were informed that we owed charges for meals that we did not consume. When we immediately disputed the charge and requested supporting documentation—such as a signed receipt, room charge slip, or system-generated proof—the front desk staff member was unable to produce any evidence to substantiate the claim. When we requested to speak with a manager, the situation became even more troubling. The staff member repeatedly stalled, claiming he was calling the hotel manager, despite the fact that a night manager was physically present in a room directly behind the front desk. Only after prolonged insistence did the night manager eventually come out to engage with us. I have since obtained the night manager’s business card, which is attached to this email for reference. By the time the manager appeared, it was evident that the staff member was fully aware that we were under significant time pressure due to our imminent flight. Unfortunately, it felt as though this urgency was being leveraged to create stress and pressure, seemingly in the hope that we would concede and pay a disputed charge simply to avoid missing our flight. This experience was deeply unsettling and left us with the strong impression that we were being taken advantage of. Whether intentional or not, the inability to provide evidence, the stalling tactics, and the delay in engaging an on-site manager fall well below the standards expected of a hotel with Safari Park Hotel’s reputation.
